NYC Composers Meetup Collaboration

Hey just joined, but one of the things I'm hoping to be able to be involved with is a composers' concert or two. Any ideas? I'd love to help organize it.

There should definitely be an opportunity for a performance part of our meetup;
I think we should talk about it the next meetup;
there are many performers in our group, and probably the first step is
finding a venue. Publicity is also important and getting the word out
But, we can start from our meetup, and maybe e-mail others who might be interested, but
haven't made the last meeting or two

Any other ideas out there, please free to bring them here

I played at the Bowery Poetry Club a couple of times. It was actually part of a kind of showcase with a couple of acts within a certain time slot. The main thing they demand is a draw. I suppose if a lot of people from the meetup came and brought friends we'd probably fill the place up. If you asked for 2 or 3 hours and gave everybody just a couple of minutes it might work.
